Apparently a Japanese TV recording of Inspector Gadget’s intro and outro (or maybe put together from several different recordings). This video was originally posted by the YouTube channel GekigaKing back in 2019 — but the channel seems to have disappeared recently, so I thought I’d reupload it.
As you can see and hear, this is the standard American intro sequence, but with an animated Japanese text title added to one shot. Curiously, the intro is from Season 1 while the outro that follows is from Season 2. And even curiouslyer, THIS outro includes the English text credits, while the outro in the Japanese-dubbed clip I posted before had all the text removed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfWzzopmVgw Not to mention that the audio heard in the outro is from Season 1, including Dr Claw’s spoken line… and we even get the custom Gadget DiC logo from Season 1 at the end. THIS IS ALL SO CONFUSING.
GekigaKing’s video description didn’t include information about the sources for the footage, so I’m just uploading the video exactly as it was. I guess it’s possible that the intro and outro are from two different recordings. For that matter, it may well be possible that the outro is edited together from different, non-Japanese sources, since there’s no Japanese text in it. Maybe the uploader only had the intro sequence recorded from Japanese television, but wanted to also include the outro in the YouTube video.
